José Luis Urdiales Ruiz

Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology since March 2020. I started my research career in 1987 as a student intern in the Biochemistry Department of the Faculty of Science. In 1993 I defended my doctoral thesis on polyamine metabolism in Ehrlich ascitic tumor cells. Subsequently, I carried out a three-year postdoctoral stay at the Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (France) focused on the study of NGF differentiation of PC12 cells. In 1996, I returned to the Biochemistry Department of the Faculty of Sciences where I resumed studies on the metabolism of polyamines and other biogenic amines in different cell models, mainly mast cells and other basophilic cells. In 1999 I became a Full Professor at the University. I am the author of 60 publications with an H index of 21.
